Dun, duh-duh, dun dun, dun DA!! *fanfare*
It's the next character for my Sonic 5 Years Later series!!
It's Metal Sonic!!
I'm really proud of this one. I was really worried about whether or not I would be able to pull off the robotic, metalic texture, but it turned out GREAT!!
Whoohoo!!
Alright, so anyway, on to describing the character.
5 Years Later Metal is the same metalic menace we all know and love, but he's recieved some SERIOUS revamping from his creator Dr. Eggman.
For starters (if you hadn't noticed already) HIS LIMBS AND HEAD ARE DETACHED!! XD
(no, I've never played Rayman, this has nothing to do with that XD)
You see those dark metalic orbs on each of his limbs? That's Eggman's greatest invention for his little invention here.
It's an all new metal substance Eggman created himself just for his new Metal. It's a HIGHLY magnetic, liquid metal (a bit like mercury in that respect).
Metal Sonic here can control the magnetic pull on his detached limbs by manipulating this substance.
For example, let's say he wanted to grab an enemy. He could simply send one of his arms flying at them without even changing positions. Then the arm would grab the enemy and pull them back for the real thrashing.
He can alter the form of the large orbs where his hand would be to form many differnt shapes.
He could turn it into a mace, or a blade, or simply a hand to grasp things with.
He's one of the most deadly things to have ever emerged from Eggman's workshop.
But as we ALL know, EVERYTHING that comes out of his workshop has some sort of flaw.
Hilariously enough, this Metal Sonic is only a killer when ordered to be by his master.
At all other times he is simply a curious, knowledge hungry, little critter. He likes to sit in front of the televison and furiously scan the channels or speed read every book he can get a hold of. He'll mimic anything he finds interesting, which annoys old Egghead to no end. XD
Will our newest Metal Sonic become the demise of Sonic the Hedgehog, or will he just get too smart for his own good?
Heehee, you'll just have to guess. XD

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactAs soon as I viewed this piece, I found the originality outstanding, even for being a fan adjustment to an already existent character. The shading and overall design is amazing and does have a metallic look, which suits Metal Sonic very well. This looks like official artwork, which also makes this more compelling. His abilities, as you described, are also very interesting and I would love to see them in use. The only question I have for this piece is about the limbs, of which are not present. The picture still looks perfectly fine though this absence confuses me slightly when I look at the picture. Once again, great job.
