My take on Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose several years older. Thank you so much to all my friends at school who said SEGA should use this as official designs. Ya'll are so sweet.
Sonic has aged pretty easily it seems. At 20 years old now, his spines have grown longer and some smaller ones have started growing in. He's got new shoes too.
I wanted to make Amy look more mature too. At 17 years old she should be. I wanted her to look less (as I have heard someone so elegently put it before) like she got into her mommy's makeup kit. She's got longer spines now and a brand new outfit.
I tried to stay true to their personalities as I was drawing this. I'm really proud of it. Yeeee!! *ahem* Sorry... fangirl spasm...
Please give me all you thoughts. I really want to know what you think of this one.
EDIT: Figured it was worth mentioning since this picture continues to be added to "Sonamy" folders and what not. THIS IS NOT A COUPLE PIC. I don't have a problem with Sonamy as a pairing, but I figured it was kind of obvious as they are not acknowledging each other in this picture at all.
That's actually the reason I quit putting them together in pictures in the 5YL series. Like for example, I originally posted Knuckles and Rouge together because I drew them on the same page. But then I realized this was going on. Too late for this picture, but the other ones I post seperately now.
When I saw this in my watched deviations I was completely blown away. Sonic has stayed the same(ish) for far too long. Your originality in these designs is perfect. I love how Sonic's spines are longer and absolutely love the new ones coming in, in fact its how I have been trying to style my hair for a while now, being that I was nicknamed Sonic as a kid its awesome to be sharing something in common with him now as an adult.
Amy is vastly improved also, love her new longer spines/hair and much better makeup & outfit.
Your colour work is perfect and the line-art is awesome, I like how on Sonic you cannot see the line-art on any of the blue areas. The only possible thing I think could improve this is a natural line-art instead of the black, well not an improvement as such because I like the black also, it would just make them look a bit more real (as in we don't have black lines on us).
when I saw this I thought it was interesting how they would look in the future the originality of how they look was good and the shading was perfect. Though the vision I thought was a little too bling-bling on amy with too much jewelry the shoes would of looked good if the dress had a white outline and was more pink like her previous dress and amy's hair should of been longer and more bright pink anyways overall the vision was good Sonic on the other hand was what I expected true to who he was with exact same shoes modified with a simaler design which I like btw ... I like how the spikes are longer which I think improves his design. So 5/5 for this.
Well Sonic X was based off of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, the game I have. And I'm pretty sure my manual in theres says he's 15. But it's bound to change. That said I'm not in too big a hurry to go dig it up and check.
